I agree. If you're going to get railroaded out of a job, they should at least give you two free iPads. Especially when you just brokered a deal to make the university an obscene amount of money in the coming years.

He should have never lost his job. fricking ESPN would not quit until he was gone. Now they forget about this story and move on, but Pernetti's career is ruined.
The coach is the bad guy in this situation, not the AD, and certainly not the President. But it must have been a slow news week at ESPN, so they prop this story up until heads roll.

Yeshe shouldve lost his job. If he wouldve done the right thing by firing Rice when he saw the video, he would still be employed right now and wouldve been praised by ESPN and the public for making such a crucial decision while in the middle of B10 negotiations. Instead of doing that, he swept it under the rug and look where it got him

He cursed and threw basketballs, who gives a frick, what kind of 18+ year old cant handle that from a COACH. Bobby Knight would have been screwed back in the day if this much attention was given to petty shite

Explain how he swept it under the rug.
Andy Katz made a blog post on ESPNs site on 12/29/12 about Rice's suspension and the reasons for it. Also mentioned that there was video evidence.
Why was nothing made of it until the week of the Final Four?

He swept it under the rug by making it seem like the coaches actions were alot less than what was actually going on.
Also, anyone who wrote about it in Dec only knew that the coach was on tape. The video hadnt been released though so no one knew the severity of the coaches actions. Once that video was released Rice HAD to be fired because no recruit would ever go there after seeing that.
If Pernetti wasnt going to fire Rice after seeing that video what the hell would a coach have to do to get fired?
