I'm gonna go ahead and not pay to download their last two albums now.

“….I say hallelujah to them. You know, I say it for only one reason, the truth is people who download your music are your fans. Or people who are potentially going to become your fans. And if you’re going to be upset that someone is interested, or becoming interested in your stuff, then what’s the point. What are you doing?
If it’s all about money then certainly you’re going to be offended. But if your actual intent is to enjoy what you’re doing and have others enjoying it, then it should be a no brainer. I welcome all people to download the music. They won’t be the first, they won’t be the last, and for anyone to fight that… it’s futile.”

I've always said that bands should support free downloading. It is easier for people to get into your music if they can download an album or two for free. Then you've just developed new fans, and when your next album comes out those people, not all but some, will go buy your new album.
I use bittorrents to download from bands I've never listened to all the time. It is a stress free way of getting into new music. If I like it, I can buy some more of their stuff, if I don't I can simply delete it and walk away with only lost time, not lost money.
I would offer free downloads on my website if I was them, maybe just my first album.

I remember Chumbawumba advised people, who couldnt afford to buy their records, to steal them... from the large chains of course
I'm not sure if it was worth the trouble..
