I went to ESPN and clicked on Standings to see where the Astros are currently placed. I could not find them. It took a few seconds for me to realize that I was still looking for them in the NL Central.

Then I went to the team page and saw the following:

quote:

As shaky as the Houston Astros pitching staff is already, the rebuilding club learned Friday that a young arm will miss all of 2013. Right-hander Alex White, acquired from the Colorado Rockies this offseason for reliever Wilton Lopez, is going to undergo Tommy John surgery.

quote:

The Astros on Friday night became the first team in major-league history to strike out at least 13 times in each of four consecutive games of one season. Houston's batters totaled 13 strikeouts on Opening Night, followed by 15,15 and 13 in the next three games. Brett Wallace set a major-league record with 11 strikeouts in Houston's first four games.

Then I looked and saw that for Houston's big new rivalry with the Texas Rangers...the one MLB said everyone would love...only 18K and 15K bothered to show up after opening day.

Then I saw where the Astros are about to start a 10-day road trip to Seattle, Los Angeles, and Oakland. Then they get to follow that up at the end of this month with a weeklong road trip to the Yankees and the Red Sox before taking on Detroit, the Angels, Texas again, then Detroit again.

God Speed.

Yea I think they definitely lose 100 games. The real question is will they lose more games than any other team in history. Will they lose 121?

It just amazes me how a MLB team could be this bad. BTW, Has Chris Carter got a hit yet? Has he even caught a fly ball?

I was unable to find fielding percent.

The fly ball question was a reference to him missing one in their 3rd game against the Rangers. I went to the 2nd and 3rd game of that series so that's all I saw of him. But damn he looked awful

He MAY have one hit. I haven't seen much of their games, but if his fielding is anything like his at-bats that I've seen, I'd imagine he's lazier than fricking fatass Carlos Lee and lets the centerfielder come corral everything thats hit to him.
