Is this old news? First time hearing about this. Im wondering how this will affect what route we take this offseason.

It was discussed in the game thread. I wasn't able to catch the start of the 3rd because I was driving to Baton Rouge, but apparently Gordon was playing very lazily and giving up easy shots, so Monty pulled him and apparently Gordon said something to Monty that he did not particularly like. McNamara and this Jazz guy on Twitter both said Monty was relentlessly going after him for a few minutes and had to be held back by assistants. I'd love to know what was said or why all of a sudden Gordon would decide to take a game off.

There was no video of it and it seemed like the only people who saw it were McNamara and some Utah reporter

Monty benched Gordon, and apparently Gordon said something back to him and Monty went off. Monty shrugged it off after the game, but either way, Gordon didn't come back in afterwards

You know what I mean. Whenever he can be on the court, he plays hard on both ends. It's very strange for him to decide to just play lazily and not care while he's on the court.

Why did Monty finally react is a better question?

I think monty has a lot of frustration built up after a difficult season and that was a result of it.

Not quite

Monty wouldn't blow up at him for one game. This was a result of Monty finally blowing up because of something he's been fed up with all season

It had to be something worse this time for Monty to bench him for the rest of the half. If you're talking about the lack of performance in second halves, that seems to be a result of just coming out of rehab since he's been noticeably better with every game. I never noticed anything other than that that could indicate lazy play.

I don't think Monty's job is on the line and I'd be very disappointed if they let him go.

His job would be on the line next year. Doubtful that's the case right now.

I just watched the beginning of the 3rd quarter and Eric Gordon was directly responsible for 12 straight points for the Jazz, due to his two turnovers and poor defense. According to Monty, this is just a bump in the road and this summer EG will rest and be back at 100% for a break out season with the Pelicans. LINK

I just don't get how they are so optosmistic about the whole thing. When I watch Gordon play, he still isn't right. IMO, the knee isn't 100% and he doesn't trust it. Given what we were told, that shouldn't be the case. It was never repaired and they are doing all of these things to just get him by. It will mean another tear, strain or something along those lines and he will miss time again.

No way that's true. Don't know why they would have almost traded him before the deadline

I don't see this at all. At first he wasn't right, but he's looked great over the recent stretch of games. His dunk against Brooklyn was very explosive and he had a play a game or so ago where he went out on a fast break and blew by 3 defenders to draw a foul. His outside shooting still isn't what it should be but he doesn't seem to have any knee-related issues right now.
