It's just long. And very broken up. It's practically 3 movies. The first focuses on one character, the second on another, and finally the third on how those two characters' lives have intermingled.
Pretty good job acting by Gosling and Cooper and some great shots throughout the movie.
Though very tense, it is not an action movie. It is a drama.
One of those flicks that has me thinking even the day after. It is an interesting look at the American Dream, the arrogance and humility of men, the change a child makes in a man's life, what a father is, the inability to escape our fathers' sins, and ambition.
I will say I did not care for the ending, though, and I did find myself bored at times. Overall, though, a good flick worth watching.

I did hear that the third part is the weakest and that it hurts the movie a bit. I'm still going to check it out though. I'm hoping it will come out in Nola soon. Where did you see it?

The River Oaks Landmark theater in Houston. Shitty theater but it gets all the artsy movies.
