Say what you want about his past. But he seems to be very humble and appreciative to be back on the big stage.

Question is, and I don't go looking up stats, but say he wins the NC this year....has he been more succesful at Louisville than he was an Kentucky?

In all honesty, after the affair and all of the embarrassment with that, I thought he was done and his best years were behind him, but UL stuck with him and he has built a nice team with seasoned players and will win his 2nd national title 17 years after the 1st one.

Interesting question.
At UK in 8 season he was 219-50. At UL now for 12 seasons he is 308-111. He went to 3 final fours at UK, and this is his 3rd on at UL. If he wins this year, one national title with each.
In 7 of his season at UL he has lost 10 games or more, and did that only once at UK, his first season. UK also won the title the year after he left, with his players.
I would have to say personally his UK years still look better, but his longevity at UL might ultimately win out.

Don't know if he'll win

He also took over a Kentucky program that was crippled by severe NCAA sanctions. Pitino was on the verge of turning Kentucky into the greatest CBB dynasty since John Wooden's UCLA teams before he left. The only case a person could make for Pitino's Louisville's tenure being better is that Louisville had to play against tougher competition in the Big East. All of the other numbers say that Pitino's time at Kentucky was better.

Pretty good day for Rick. His horse won the Santa Anita Derby and the comeback win tonight.
