Granted, I had a friend share a password with me, but being able to switch games or watch games that aren't on TV is awesome. Getting audio in the MLB At Bat app is also pretty legit.

Agree?

MLB.TV is like 110 bucks. I prefer having the Extra Innings Package which is only like 180 or 190 bucks. I did get the audio subscription though (19.99) for when the Cubs are playing and I am at work, like tomorrow morning.

Mlb.tv does suck if your game you want to see is blacked out though. I have heard many people complain about that.

Yea but as i understand it that only happens if you're in one of the teams markets, in which case the game is on regular tv.

The free atbat app with your subscription really puts it over the top. i think it's great.

Anyone want to share their audio password so I can listen to the Astros today?

Agreed. It's really helpful when you're a fan of a West coast team like me. Plus I'm just an MLB fan in general .. I'll watch a random AL central game on a Thursday afternoon just for fun.

I want to pay for this really bad, but I won't due to the blackout rules. I only have a cable box on my downstairs tv, which I'm rarely at. I would pay to be able to watch via streaming on my roku box in my office/bedroom but no, I can't do that. Every year I get pissed off about this b/c of the stupid arse blackout rules oh well.

I'm a Cubs fan in Baton Rouge, so I'm safe.

But I like being able to check on the Nats or Astros or teams in the same division as the Cubs whenever I want. And if I'm driving, having the game audio in my car's speakers is superb.

I prefer the MLB.tv because I can watch at work or on the train heading home or at a bar that doesn't have TVs. Extra Innings is cool, but with the advent of Roku, Appletv, Smart TVs the need to be tied to a cable box in this regard has to be waning a bit. I wonder if ExtraInnings has seen a decrease in recent years.

I've gotten the app every year. Wasn't going to get it this year out of principle(it's gone up 5 dollars every year the last 3 years and is up to 20), but that changed when I was on the way to the bar for opening day and was going to miss first pitch. Had to buy it and listen to the beginning of the game. I'll get my money's worth though. Also, the video highlights and condensed games are awesome.

Couldn't agree more. Split the cost with 3 other people or so and it becomes and even better investment.

I love it. I bought it by myself.

Bunch of penny pinchers in this thread.

I've had it for three years. It's great for when I go to the bar and want to watch the Astros and the frick wits around here want to watch the cardinals.

Yeah, since the Astros moved from Fox Sports Net to Comcast, I was going to order the MLB.TV package, but I've been told that the blackout rules would prevent me from watching them in Baton Rouge. That's just so stupid

It's where you live. The Astros and rangers are blacked out in Louisiana. Here in Memphis the cardinals reds and braves are all blacked out but in dont like any of them anyway you can watch replays after the game ends even if they are blacked out live.

Yeah, I've bought it for the last 8 years and every year the list of people I give the password to grows. At this point I could break even if I asked for $5 from each person. As long as I can watch my Angels it doesn't bother me.

Really surprised that MLB hasn't cracked down on that.

It says in the terms of service and what not that it is strictly prohibited, but with so many accounts, I'm not sure they really check.

And while they can track IP's I'm not sure how they could really prevent it to be honest.

They're still making an assload of money.
