I coached against O'neal and Brennan in middle school. I had no clue what kind of HS athletes they were.

Charlie Yorks - great all around athlete, looks the part part in a uniform, great speed, power from the left side of the plate, strong arm, great bunter, great kid!

Beau and Bryce Jordan - I know a thing or two about these guys, and they are WINNERS! At every level, these two have gotten it done in a big way since T-ball! Both hit the living crap out of the ball, that is their strength. They play the game hard, throwback players as I call them. Hard nosed, physically and mentally tough, never give in, not afraid to get dirty, not afraid to get hit, just great kids! Very good students too!

LSU will be a better team with these kids. They know how to win!

LsuSaint - These kids have been battle tested since birth! They thrive on the big moment and will be clutch for the Tigers!

LsuTool - Love the Jeremiah Johnson reference, my kind of guy!

Still stewing over that LLWS loss. They could have brought Trey in to pitch to one batter in that last inning.

Do you happen to have their numbers for this year? I'm just curious haven't kept up with them as much this season. I heard Charlie is having another off year, I know he batted in the 8 hole tonight. Seems this is a kid that peaked early an will be interesting to see if he can put it toghether at LSU. I think Bryce, or at least one of them, has pretty much been out all year with a broken bone in his back, hope it doesn't end up being one of those lingering issues in his career.

I am more of a casual observer/fan and do not have any stats. I know that Barbe's lineup tends to be so loaded with D-1 talent that hitting towards the bottom of the order is not an insult. Charlie has all the tools to play at the next level. From what I understand, Bryce will be fine and will play this summer after sitting out the spring.

Good to hear it sounds like he will be okay.

I understand that where you bat in the batting order doesn't dictate if you are going to play in college but I have been watching Charlie play for many years and it just seems he has been going backwards the last couple of years. I hope I'm wrong and he can put it together and have a great career at LSU.

What average did Yorks bat last season? I seem to recall it was about 190.

You sound like Coach Cecchini using the word "great" four times in the same sentence.

Barbe does have a few "great" athletes at this time that are standouts in more than one sport but not Yorks.

Sorry CharleyLake, it is hard to talk about these baseball players without using the word great alot. Show me a group of baseball players their age who have accomplished more, you will be hard pressed to do so, and I think they have earned the praise I give them.

LSU saw something in Charlie Yorks, enough to offer him, and that is good enough for me. It is not always about a high school batting average, as we all know that can be subjective at times. Charlie has tools that scouts look for: speed, arm, glove, and he hits from the left side with some pop in his bat.

I was referring more to what they have done in baseball from youth to present, not just high school.
