Just watched Slipknot's full set at KnotFest from last August. So white and so angry

What are some of the scariest concert crowds you've experienced? Off the top of my head I'd think Lil' Wayne/Rick Ross, Justin Beiber, and any Neo-Nazi skinhead band would be an aweful crowd to endure.

I think it depends on where you are. I have seen the same bands in different places and the crowds were different. Went to Carnival of Madness in fricking Huntington, West Virginia and I thought I was gonna die. Crowd surfers everywhere. I was kicked in the head like 5 times. Me and my buddy catapulted some guy like 3 rows forward. Didn't see him the rest of the night.

From what I've heard, Suicidal Tendencies shows back in the day were wild as hell. Craziest I've seen was Cannibal Corpse.

I bartended a Juvenile/Birdman show in New Orleans shortly after Katrina. Had armed guards to keep the crowd from fricking with me. Still had some big guy unhappy with what his round cost at the station next to mine grab a bottle of liquor out of the girl's hand and throw it at my head. Granted I don't think he was aiming at me specifically. The ensuing melee between the crowd and security was pretty bad.

DAC at a dirt track speedway in N. LA a few years before his casino-circuit comeback. He was drunk and ornery, the crowd was split 50-50 between bikers and backwoods rednecks.

Some of the more memorably violent shows I've been at...

Fearless Vampire Killers - features original members of Cro-Mags and Bad Brains, including John Joseph.

The Templars (New York Oi! band)

Agnostic Front with Death Before Dishonor opening for them - the venue was full of FSU ["friends stand united"] members... Best to listen to the music, and not make any sort of scene to increase your life expectancy)

Terror - Hardcore at the angriest level possible.

The Casualties - I've seen these guys several times. When I saw them in Hawaii, the entire club was one giant pit. Several people got teeth/bones broken that night.

fans of The XX are pretty fricked up people. I heard at concerts the crowd fakes hangs themselves
