my cousin is a ucla alum and current high school basketball coach in the LA area(lots of local recruiting ties) and told me this exact same thing. Brad Stevens did turn down UCLA, and the program was willing to throw a shite ton of money at either pitino or donovan.

Did they?

I don't know about either of those guys though...zero connection to Los Angeles talent basin and despite their years coaching...both total East Coast guys who have never connected with California kids and the locals.
