So.. play a tank top laner or jungler.
Maokai, Sion, Amummu, Nautilus, Shyvanna, Trundle.
As a tank in the top lane, you will be a much bigger asset to your team. Supports are starved gold throughout much of the game, but in the top lane you get solo experience for levels and all the gold from lane minions.
