Maining support is a labor of love. Supports can only do so much in a game. Other lanes can carry a game, supports often can't. I mostly play sup/jg in soloQ. it also good because in ranked draft, you will not always get your preferred role. You will have to fill into other roles based on team need. So you should have a few main roles and at least occasionally practice the roles you don't play.

So you should learn another role.

I have been learning ad carry and jng, and I was really good at trytop in my early 10s, so I'm sure if I needed I could pull that back out (have experience with riven and trydamere) - people just never want to support and I've been a tank player since EQ, it just comes more naturally

This is one of the most untrue things I have ever heard. Supports make or break the bottom lane. Snowballing it allows you to roam mid to gank or to move with your jungler into their jungle
