No escape equals a dead ADC.

Not entirely, but Ashe suffers from more than just a lack of an escape.

Dcrews needs to remember that in URF, mana is free, CDs are low, and AS is high.
It is a different game from regular.

Ashe is great in URF.... 12 second ults, W every 2-3 seconds, and teleport to get to easy farm.
I can't tell you how many awesome Ult arrows would turn team fights... or how many times I just brute forced down towers.
(One of my guilty pleasures is finishing off a tower before the enemy teleport is completed. I imagine them getting super pissed that they have to walk to lane. )

I'd love to see Ashe get back as a viable ADC, but her utility isn't enough to overcome her poor qualities versus other ADCs.
Case in point: I watched WildTurutle play "only Ashe" in SoloQ, but the whole time he complained about her flaws... and only played like 3-4 before he was like... screw this.

I'm aware.

Her Volley CD isn't that high in the later game anyway. With attack speed, a shiv and a LW, she can do some serious melting with her AA.

She has no escapes so that does put her at a HUGE disadvantage, however, if you can coordinate with your team and get some decent peel, she is still effective.

If you can get out of the early game with a break even lane as ashe, you've done well and can scale into late game very well. You just have to be very very very very aware and on point with your positioning bc of her lack of escape. I feel her ult and her hawkshot help tremendously with keeping her out of trouble if she isn't positioned ideally.

I know no one likes her, but for some reason, she's always been a favorite of mine.

I wasn't indicting your memory or knowledge.
I was simply pointing out that the unique urf environment boosts champions that aren't equally strong in regular games.

Ashe's utility is fun and a change of pace versus traditional adcs.
I find her Similar to sivir.
But the lack of spell shield and movement buff require you to have to kite and get items built.

I can see her coming back if the meta switches again to reward utility.

Sivir is meh to me. Obviously she is good considering the pros use her, but I just don't like playing with her.

I need to get back into her again.

What generally determines meta? Is it the way Riot nerfs/buffs champions? Riot making adjustments to map design/jungle camps, etc..? Players forming a new meta on their own via play style?

We did. I just happened to make mention of how I forgot that Ashe can be an effective late game carry. (This after playing around with her in URF)

Agreed. At least she has a stun (her ultimate) and her hawkshot (allows for on the fly map information so she can position her self properly).

Her slow effects late game are extremely underrated as well. Her AA and her W not only hurt, but the slow that goes along with it is pretty hefty.

Caught out of position 1v1 or 1v2, any adc is going to have issues.

You guys play graves at all anymore?

If a khazix jumps on you her ultimate isnt gonna save you. And if it does you just wasted your initiation to get away. Graves is becoming Fotm among the challenger Adcs

What adc is going to likely live through khazix jumping on them. Maybe, Ez because he essentially has a built in flash? Doesn't khazix have 2-3 jumps?

Flash away, use your arrow and kite. Otherwise you are insanely out of position and will die anyway.

I see Sivir players blow her ult to escape all the time. You'd rather not have to, but it's nice to have.

Also, what "escapes" does Jinx have?

Maybe Trist can get away too... Jump and Flash.
Same with Lucian, Ez, Cait.

Vayne could condemn and use the invisibility of the ult.

So, I don't see how Ashe is significantly disadvantaged vs the other ADCs except for maybe Lucian that can deal ult damage to self-peel.

Ashe is terrible. Almost insta dodge worthy.

I agree with you, paired with flash, a lot, if not all of the adc's have some form of escape or disengage.

That is part of the reason I like Trist so much. With flash, her jump and her ult, it's not likely you should get caught out often.

Lucian and graves have a small dash, but I wouldn't equate it things like trist's jump or caitlyn's net.

Vayne's disengage is strong as well.

Early game with Ashe though, her slow isn't potent, leaving her vulnerable. Later game though, that slow is extremely annoying and comes quickly as her attack speed is good.

Khazix's jump resets on kills or assists. Even so, if you flash away, khazix's evolved Q has a pretty good range and will really chunk an ADC.

Jinx's passive is a nice speed boost on kills/assists. You wont catch a "get excited" jinx.

Sweet little dash to get IP victory I wanna share.

So, I've had my eye on Xin Zhao for a while now. I played him for a week straight when he was on the free rotation, and I've been waiting for him to go on sale.
He went on sale for 3150 this week.

But I was at like 1447 IP. And his sale ends today. :yak:
So, I started the grind. Urf, urf, and more urf.

10-15 games one night.... 3-4 another.... whenever i could steal away time to get some IP. I took it.

Yesterday, I was still only at 2707. A few wins and a loss put me within striking distance at 3057.
However, with no bonus available until late... chances were pretty slim of getting there before it was too late.

So, I remembered the verify your email IP point boost. I locked in that bad boy and hoped that I could sneak in a quick game between work and a business dinner.
But Urf was GONE!

Cracked up a coop vs AI needing ~ 100 points.
I crushed the game, towers, turrets, kills. Dragging these newbs to end it quickly so I could theoretically squeeze another game in if needed.
Victory + IP bonus.... 95 points.

I have two IP points in my account right now, and victory over bots never felt so sweet.
