My experience, you will need to purchase on eBay or Amazon at a mark up. The 1080s are still hot off the shelves at 700-800. So expect to pay 1300 at less for this card at launch.

I'm in total gridlock, because I don't want to spend thousands of dollars just yet. If I upgrade cards, I'll need to go 4K as well. But I also might upgrade my Nexus 6. I also need a new laptop. Gotta prioritize.
