holy mother of god, 27 is a huge screen, I hope I can get used to this.

I was a bit overwhelmed by the size when I got a 27" 1080p monitor years ago. I got used to it and eventually it became essential. I liked the extra real estate for multitasking. Once I got a 1440p of the same size, it was perfect. I now use the 27" 1080p as a secondary monitor, so I have huge amounts of screen space on my desk.

Not a big fan of the base on this monitor, it's kind of cheap and wobbly and I had to prop something under the back of it because it is permanently tilted back. the only adjustment allowed is side to side tilt.

I have the previous model, the QNIX QX2700. Not sure if the stands are different, but pretty much all of the stands on the Korean monitors are sort of crappy, except for the Crossover brand. Mine isn't too bad. It mostly depends on how sturdy/solid your desk is as to whether banging on your keyboard will make the monitor shake/wobble.

A common solution for the crappy stand is a VESA Mount. Some that clamp to your desk to act a sturdier stand, while others mount to the wall to take away any wobble/shake due to keyboard pounding and whatnot. Will also give you more angle adjustment freedom.

This 1440 is pushing my single 7950.

Yep, I remember having only a single 7970 when I first got my 1440P monitor. Wasn't long before I got a second card. 1440P has over 70% more pixels than 1080P, so your GPU has that many more pixels to process/render per frame.
