Honestly, I turn off pretty much every power-saving function available. My gaming rig runs 24/7 unless I know I won't be home for at least a day. If you want your computer to sleep, try disabling everything but that function and see what it does.

Do you run your pc in balanced or high performance? does it even make a difference?
