I'm with you. The thing that gets me is not that the athletes aren't being helped and supported the way they're supposed to but just the kids in general. Why aren't the guidance counselers and administrators not pushing these kids to be the best they can be in the classroom regardless of whether they're an athlete or not. It's a shame that a lot of these kids are just left to fend for themselves. I know they're capable on their own but some need that extra push or help.
Most of the grade issues come down to core classes. The kids are just taking classes that are good enough to graduate and not the core classes required by colleges. Certain amount or particular maths, sciences or foreign languages. Also it's not like these kids aren't known to be pretty good athletes with a real shot of being recruited at an early age. They find these kids as 8th graders and freshmen these days. No excuse for any of them to not be abreast of the requirements gradewise. It seems like most of the potential non qualifiers have no plan until our staff gives them one. That's ridiculous.
