Anyone remember baseball player Louis Melancon?

He supposedly played in the 80's .... very tall guy .... probably in his early 40's today

I looked at all the old rosters on lsusports and couldn't find him

That is when I first started following the team and I don't recall that name.

The only Melancon who was a varsity letterman was Joseph Melancon in 1971-1972 per the 2013 LSU baseball yearbook. Pg 168.

Is Mr. Melancon claiming to be a player?

I do remember John Dixon.

If he's 42, he would have played in the early 90s.

And I think a

would have lettered. My BS meter is showing in the red zone on this one.

The LSU players I remember from Miami around that time frame were Luis Garcia and Rick Greene.

Technically, I was a 4-year scholarship player at LSU, too.

I attended on an academic scholarship (pre-TOPS) and played 4 years of sports:

4 yrs basketball, 4 yrs softball, and 4 yrs flag football.....

Of course the detail I am leaving out is "intramural".
