SOS and S do y'all think we still get Owens? I can settle for Lott, Frazier, Simmons, and Sampson but would like to get Owens for his agressiveness and heart. Blackeny would be a huge plus also. But I can settle for them 4

So, since it appears as though the poster who started this thread is no longer active, I've been thinking we need to start a new 2015/2016/2017 thread. I'll gladly start on it tomorrow.

This. I think we push hard for Owens and have a great shot at him.

This thread OP hasn't updated in ages. I would definitely be down with you starting a new one for the new recruiting cycles.

My bad on not being as active I will update the thread tomorrow.

I have an internship with a big a insurance company down in New Orleans, and being the office bi%*ch don't have a lot of free time.

Will do a comprehensive list of all recruits, regardless of how "likely" they come. If we have shown interest and or the recruit has shown interest I will gladly add them.

Sorry for not keeping up with it. I know besides Bubba, Ben, and select few others basketball recruiting gets very little pub here or anywhere else. Thx to Coach D, Sos, and S as always keeping this thread on life support.

I've heard that Lsu is not really pressing for Owens, and think that can land a bigger fish.I would like to see him in the class though .

Again sorry for not keeping up with the thread.

I updated the front page, its still not done. I have 15 guys for the class of 2015 that by tomorrow I will have up there. Just a start but hope it looks good enough.

I am business/political science major not a digital media specialist . Even though people give me shite all the time for going to a small, private, liberal arts college, that focuses more on pottery and fingerpainting than sports sadly.

I don't think LSU is not pressing for Owens, he definitely has a commitable offer on the table. Being really good friends with Simmons and the fact that LSU has been there early on, he is definitely a target.

There are two guys to watch for though that are "ranked" higher in Elijah Thomas 6'9 240 out of Lancaster,TX and Tyler Davis 6'9 265 out of Plano, TX. Both big men that CJJ has recruited and has ties to since his UNT days.

Simmons tearing up the Peach Jam right now. Can't wait for this kid to step on campus. We struck gold with this kid!

@GoodmanESPN: Doubt it will happen in 2015-16, but imagine LSU frontcourt of Ben Simmons, Jarrell Martin and Jordan Mickey. Would be best in country.

@GoodmanESPN: Not much Ben Simmons cannot do. Scores in variety of ways and is a tremendous passer. 6-8 Aussie looks like best player in country.

I'm pretty jealous

While it's unlikely now with the big guys on Blakeney, he's still the top guard on our board.

UNC writers are saying the Tarheels are starting to recruit Blakeney pretty hard now. He's become a priority for them.

I know you said you don't want to compare Ben to another player, but it's hard not to say he's a bigger, better version of Benji Wilson. If anyone doesn't know who Ben Wilson was, he was a phenom high school recruit out of Chicago in the 80's. He was called Magic Johnson with a jumpshot. He was 6'6 but ran an offense better than any guard. He was the first basketball super recruit, a kind of predecessor to LeBron, Carmelo, Wiggins, and now Simmons. Sadly, he was shot and killed in Chicago after having an altercation with another man on a street corner. Our Ben has a very similar skill set to Wilson. Wilson was a supreme athlete, had a rare ability to see the court, was more than adept at finishing through contact, were tremendous passers, had a sweet stroke from outside, and played tremendous D. Ben shares all these traits with Benji, but is also a better shot blocker, rebounder, and has Benji by about 3-4 inches and 40 pounds. Ben Simmons is a complete player.

Not that its a bad comparison just really hard to overlook 3-4 inches and 40-50 pounds, Wilson was skinny.

But if you look at film of both guys, I really see a lot of the same type of player Michael Beasley was. I have brought this comparison up before, and posters/rantards get offended, because of the off the court issues MB has/had. Ben S hust plays with a lot more physicality than Wilson and rightfully so he is much bigger. But I can definately seen the comparisons in skill level for his size and stardom relative to recruiting. If you saw how Exum solidified his Top-5 status, was by his personality and accent alone. Watch Beasley higlights from HS or even his first year at K-State and you will see why.
