How shocking that TIGRLEE would foul up a thread like this.

Admit it, life will prob become easier for you.

Meh... Some would argue that the race baiting trolls fouled up this thread.
But whatever makes you feel better about yourself.
Doesn't bother me.

that said, I think ppl underestimate Manziel's ability to improve and have the game slow down for him. may not result in improved numbers per se, but ya gotta think he'll be better able to figure out what defenses are doing with a full year of playing and an offseason under his belt.
How could he not improve, right? I am with you, he may not have those numbers again, a season like that is damn near impossible to replicate.
I'm torn between thinking he is a great player and thinking he is a really good player who had the magic last season.
Truth is that only time will tell.

That's exactly what everyone says when it riles them up more than anyone.
You sound like longhorn22 on the OT Lounge.

Dear God here we go again. No we do not need someone to come in and ran the damn read option because the defense will no what is going on as soon as we bring in that package! Stick with one QB and have him run a couple of Read Options. The last thing any one would suspect is Mett doing it and holding on to the ball. I hope they dont let this guy touch the damn ball!

Dafuq u talking about? Know what will happen and stopping what will happen are two different things people knew Tebow, Newton, and Manzel would take off and run with the ball, but people rarely stopped it and all three of them won the Hiesman two of which won the BCS

Man this has got to be the worst mannered forum I visit. Would you guys please learn how to have a decent discussion without behaving like 5 year olds.
Do you guys start drinking when you wake up?
ON TOPIC:y
I just watched Jennings HS highlights again and am impressed with the same things a few here have pointed out.
They ran 4 or 5 wide a whole lot and sometimes kept a RB in to block. The defenses would respond by sending disguised blitzes from the edge, likely their best blitzers. Sometimes the RB would pick him up, sometimes not.....BUT, Jennings usually would make a subtle move, make the defender miss, but never take his eyes off of his down field targets... Granted, it looked like his O-line was pretty good and he had that one HUGE receiver. He would find his reciever, quickly plant his feet, the ball came out FAST and the ball was delivered with excellent accuracy - even the deep balls when the receiver was well defended....very very different skill set from Mett who I also like.
He is a pocket passer IMO, even though we may run option with him, his strengths are his pocket presence, his accuracy, his vision, his quick feet, and his quick release.
He did not wow me with his speed. He can run, but he is no RG3. I was impressed by the way he felt the pocket and moved quickly almost without thinking - YOU CANNOT COACH THAT. Comparing him to Russell Shepard is a very bad comparison. Jennings is going to be a quarterback - PERIOD.
In summary, it's Spring. I always get excited as do all LSU fans. This year we have much to be excited about. We got a GREAT offensive coordinator in Cam, with a history of developing quarterbacks. We have an experienced senior quarterback with the ability to be great but in need of some help from someone like Cam and some better blocking from his line. Stud is back 100% focused on the line.
Right away I noticed a different attitude from this team in Spring....it started on day one. There seems to be an intensity that we have lacked in prior years. It's very exciting.
I am excited beyond words that we have an early arrival freshman QB with the accuracy, arm strength, lightning fast release, pocket presence, decent speed, and intangibles that Cam can actually work with. I see great potential in Jennings...more than any QB we've recruited in the recent past. The fact that he already has the support of his team mates and coaches is telling. He is 18 years old and the guys supporting him know a good thing when they see it...and it apparently is obvious even at his young age.
Am I making a mountain out of a molehill? - Maybe. I do it almost every spring, but this year feels different, it looks different, our guys are doing the Harlem Shake together and HAVING FUN.
In my opinion the future is very bright at LSU. So far this Spring we look like a team.
NOW BACK TO YOUR' IDIOTIC BICKERING!!

Yeah, the schedule is a killer, but you never know...
Beating Bama at their house with an awesome offensive performace would make me VERY happy. Saban screaming at his defense would complete a wonderful day!!
My expectations extend past this year...We appear to be back on the upswing.....teams seem to go in cycles. I believe last year was the bottom.
Nowhere to go but up baby!!!

Interesting you would call it a cycle. It was one year.
But I do agree with you, this team has a good looking next few years.
Posted on 3/22/13 at 2:18 pm to TexasTiger1185
Yeah, maybe the cycle thing wasn't the best, but I've found that in life most everything has some form of cycle to it.
It was one year and we were still reeling from 1-9, you're right. (Sorry to bring it up. LOL)
Regardless the next few years should be exciting. I just watched all of the videos and have my typical annual "SPRING FEVER".
The talent, the intensity....WOW!!!
I'm an optimist and a realist.
I just want to see some Offense!!!

It is very cyclical though, and lets hope that last year was the bottom. Because we were still just plays away from going to the SEC Championship.
It isn't like we were Texas who absolutely collapsed after their BCS loss to Alabama.
We got knocked down, badly. But we didn't let it slow us down, we kicked the best player (arguably) off of or team, suffered serious injuries throughout the season and were still in the hunt. Realistically there is no reason to think we won't be competing for the crystal ball this year.

True dat. That's football....one or two plays determine your' season.
The Saints almost got screwed out of the playoffs because of a blown call in the Seahawks - Packers game...in the end the Saints record setting defense kept them from going anywhere anyway.
