I live off of Pecue close to Airline and the new Women's hospital. I have a little 3 yr old and would like to take him from time to time to a spot we can just post up on shore and try and catch some bass and or whatever. My question is does anyone know of a place close to me I could do that with him?

BREC Fishing Ponds
Burbank Soccer Park has a pond. I doubt you'll catch much there.
RAMAH BANK FISHING - Take a right off the Ramah exit off I-10, drive down the side of the gas station, go under the interstate, and cross over the levee and fish the canals there for sac-a-lait. This is the edge of the Atchafalaya Spillway.
City of New Roads pier in downtown New Roads. Restaurant and bathrooms nearby.
LSU lakes....meh, silted in in recent years.
BREC park on North Sherwood has a few ponds that I've caught bream and small bass in.
Waddill Wildlife Refuge on Flannery Road has several stocked ponds and is set up really nice for young kids. 7:30-5:00 M-Sat. All fish are catch and release.

Good luck with people giving up their fishing holes to someone they dont know.
Saying its for a 3 year old may help....JK, that wont help either.
The best answer I can give you is to go by yourself and scout some local water. When you catch a few, then remember that spot and bring him back and go fishing.
Another tip is dont take a 3 year old bass fishing. Take him bream fishing. Put a cricket under a cork and let him fish. You arent going to find a hole where you can catch enough bass to keep a 3 year old zoned in on fishing.

there used to be pay-for-fish catfish ponds around Holden. just bank fishing and they charged by the lb for what you caught. not sure if any are still around.
having been there and done that with a 3 yr old, stick with bream for now and keep it short and light and before you know it you'll have a hard-core fisherman on your hands, and then it gets REALLY good.

Wait another few weeks then you can catch some perch in almost any deep ditch you find..

Just go to some local neighborhood ponds and try to
Find some type if structure near the bank. No one will say shite to you for taking a small child fishing there regardless as long as you are not keeping everything you catch. If they do, frick em.
Get in google maps and look for water.

Waddill - they have a catfish pond and a bream/bass pond
Once it warms up more, head to False River with crickets and catch all the bream you can eat.

Have you tried fishing that little pond that used to be on the back of the driving range there? I've never fished it, but it's been there for as long as I can remember. I'm sure some fish survived the Great Golf Cart Incident.

If you really are serious, maybe post your email and more people will be willing to help.
When you post something here, I'd venture to say that at least 500 people read it. If I posted to come fish in my neighborhood pond, it would have 50 people at it that weekend
