seems like a pretty quick turnaround... we're 1/4 through 2013... how long does it take to build a course and have it actually be playable?... 24 months? I guess there's enough time, but better hope for no snags.

Gotta imagine they have disposable funds since it's for the Olympics. They will have as many machines and workers as they need to get it done on time, unlike most courses being built.

depends on the amount of labor and money. My cousin is actually a course architect and just had a course built in China. From the day they broke ground to the day they opened for the first tee time was 18 months. He had 400 workers on site every day and the cost of the course was into 8 figures of Yen (sp?).

It'll never be ready in time.

Seems like they could have just modified some existing course.

There's gotta be like 4 places to play down there, at least.

So, would that make it about a million dollar course to them? That's my rough/buzzed conversion.

That's badass. Course architects are incredible. I imagine that would be one frustrating, but rewarding job.

Fortunately, an American host city will probably be able to pick and choose a course for the next Olympics held in the U.S.
