It also states that any unsold tickets would be available for the general public.

So all freshmen would be guaranteed a ticket to every game, and if there aren't enough tickets, then upperclassmen have to do without? Really? As if it weren't stupid enough that the legislature would get involved with student ticket allocation in the first place, they come up with probably the dumbest allocation plan, too?

How about the representatives address this right after they relinquish their priority rights to bowl games and Saints playoff games etc. Once we've made sure the taxpayers have he same priority, then HB-BS 144 can be discussed and suitably dismissed seeing as it is not needed.

As a new student (grad student) a few years back I was thrown in with the freshman and all other new students for student ticket requests. I requested a package (half the games with 2 SEC games and 2 OOC games) but was awarded the entire home season ticket package. I'm not aware that Freshman/new students have been turned away in recent years? If there enough season tickets for 2012 after an undefeated NCG run this will likely never be an issue in my opinion.
