With the summer camps coming up the staff will probably find one or two more under the radar players that are LSU quality, happens every year. It all works out in the end

Already been said, but the staff knows way more about who they want/need than we do. Just chill and let things play out

I don't think the Staff is concerned one bit, like someone else said, if the staff is accepting commits, then these probably are the studs. You just don't happen to know of them. By the way, I take personal responsibility for this commit, I live in his neck of the woods and drive a car with an LSU sticker and liscense plate on it, so it was probably my doing that got him interested. LOL

If a big name player wants to commit late then somebody is being asked to greyshirt or some is being invited to leave the program.

Couldn't have said it any better.

If our staff offer a recruit, then he is LSU quality and we want him obviously.

Recruit position lists were all set and now they are changing as these lower ranked unknowns commit and everyone wondering if that will effect the other bigger targets at those positions

shite like this ^^ is what is wrong with this site. its like people are refreshing the page every 6 seconds for someone to ask a question then their weewee gets hard when someone asks a question and they pounce on them acting like they're just far superior to these petty questions. If your gonna be a dick just dont post anything.

beardkp don't let the a-holes bother you.

I am far from concerned but agree prior to any commits people have some idea of who we are going to get and a bunch of high ranking guys from La. are on the list. And bam we keep signing these guys that WE have never heard of that aren't highly rated... at least not yet. It did seem a bit... not what was expected.

My post after Upchurch committed. Our LA boys need to get on the train...

no offense but are you going off star power or the kids' tape? Haven't looked at the DE commit, but I'm guessing the staff figures him to be a great pickup with or without the top guys.

Why would getting Upchurch effect the other WR commits? As of right now, two of our top 4 wrs will leave because of no eligibility. The other two should leave with a decent season (900+ yds 7 TDs, 700+ yds 10 TDs), leaving us with only four wrs who at least see the field.

In my eyes I see a physical possession receiver with good hieght and good hands in Upchurch. A speedster who is also a polished receiver in Quinn. An explosive slot player with great speed who can turn on a dime and shake an LB out his socks. And an all around top receiver prospect in Dupre, with tremendous hands, 4.4 speed and incredible leaping ability. He just looks the part of a wr.

With the money of the drafts being greatly reduced, our other receivers could leave with decent seasons
You contradict yourself in the same sentence. If the money were NOT reduced, it would increase the likelihood of them leaving, right?

I think the staff is doing the right thing and locking up some players who fill certain needs and are LSU quality but not HUGE recruits according to services. ie. upchurch, a big possession wr; shorter, a speed, complementary back; and rhaheed, a speed rusher. we have plenty schollies available for the so called HUGE prospects.

I'll scratch that and say that they are breaking in a new QB next year and now is the time to leave with a decent enough season. I go back to Lafell on this one, he had 929 yds and 8 TDs his junior year which could have seen him as a first rder and a big contact, if he improved on that. He had 792 and 11 TDs his senior year which did nothing to raise his stock. What happened in those two years was a change in QB and it was n9t for the better for him.

well after the first round the money greatly dipped back then and now so my bad on that, but why risk being taking at 4-5 or not at all and fighting for practice squad.

I haven't watched the new DE, but I love the other two based on the things you typed.
