Will there ever be a team dominant enough to do it again?

No kids don't stay around long enough.

Yes, next season.

Teams have come close. I'd say it is more possible than other feats in sports.
Of course, all athletes were better and more powerful in the 1960's, so nevermind.

I was thinking the same thing.

Uh yeah..
It almost happens way too frequently to think it would never happen again.

The problem is the 6 games you have to win the tournament and the addition of conference tournaments. The last team to do it (Indiana) only had a 32 team tournament and no conference tourney.
I think the closest recently was Illinois in 2005 lost to Ohio State on a last second Matt Sylvester 3(for those that don't know, Matt sucks)
UK lost two games last year, one close one, and one then in the SEC final of the tournament.
You also have to think about the advent of the 3, leveling the playing field, that happened in 1986.

There was a stretch with Memphis under Coach Cal that they would lose no less than 3 games a season.

Gonzaga is the only team I can think of. In the regular season. OVERALL?????????? NO WAY.................
This is what makes UCLA'S 88 game winning streak so special.................

Were you a North Carolina fan yet back then?

I'll say yes.
Would have to be a team in a weak conference.
Gonzaga was close this year, and St. Jose's was close a few years back.
Won't be a power conference team.

If I'm not mistaken, when Indiana did it it was still a 16 team tourney.
