I saw three games in 1958 when the Tigers won the National Championship. I saw the Tigers beat Hardin-Simmons (20-6), Ole Miss (14-0) and Kentucky (32-7). We bought the tickets the night of the game on the "family plan". Adult tickets were four dollars and my ticket cost fifty cents! This was back in the good ole days when fans actually were on campus to watch the football game. The fans did not leave at half-time for any reason. Ah, for the halcyon days of old.

the "Billy Cannon" plan?

:note to admin, not a disparaging comment, Dr. Cannon has often told the story of buying up a section of seats during the summer(during playing days,) and re-selling them as the Tigers gained popularity during the season

Yeah, no distractions of cell phones, social media, texting and all that BS. Just the game and yell as loud as we could so the other team could not hear their signals. I don't even think the benches used hand signals back then, but might be wrong.
