I miss those Saturday nights with no upper deck. I would sit up on the last row center endzone sometimes for a great view of the entire sold out stadium and take it all in. It was cosmic, only thing, the pot smokers were always up there smoking weed. So I was not sure how that was affecting my moment.

Me too. Smaller capacity but louder than current. More die hards. No Cheesers. Student section wasn't a collection of spoiled candy asses like today. Endzone graphics were much better. Overall a much more "Football" oriented crowd.

I was at that game (Ole Miss) myself. Time stood still!
I saw almost every game there from 1969 t0 1972. One of the ones I missed was the ND game where we kicked ND's a$$. We banded geese at Rockefeller Refuge all day and couldn't get into the game by the time we got back to campus Had a ball watching on TV with the doors open so we could hear the crowd.

had a blind date at the game that night. we were married about a year later and have 2 kids and 2 grandkids. obviously it will always be a special night for me.
