Yes, but I still wouldn't say you are "taking an RBI opportunity from a hitter" if he gets thrown out stealing second base. I understand exactly what you are saying. You are thinking he is in scoring position because of the power behind him. That isn't why he isn't running. He isn't running because as has been said a few times now, he just isn't the greatest of base runners yet. Stealing bases is way more than just speed. He will get better at it and will begin to steal more bases and will give Bregman even more RBI opportunities by standing on second base.

Great insight this thread. He's tried to steal, and hasn't looked good doing it. I think the coaches are working with him, but as others have said, he hasn't read the pitchers well, and hasn't finished well. Lots of little things go into it, that time will fix. Coaches haven't forced it on him, as the guys behind him are killing it, and we are scoring. Bregman isn't as fast, but he's looks great at stealing bases..for a comparison, and they are letting him run, with decent hitters behind him.....

PurpleandGold, I get what you're saying. I have only watched a handful of games, that's why I asked. Thanks for the insight and I'm sure he will get better as well.
