Best BR restaurant stretch

The Curry N Kabab thread got me thinking. On S. Sherwood, in a stretch between Golden Corral and RaceTrac, you've got:
Bay Leaf Indian, Duong Tawan Thai, Albasha Lebanese, South of Philly cheesesteaks, Hunan Chinese, Ginza sushi, Londoner, Himalayas Nepali, Dream Berrie Vietnamese and Uncle O's cajun and Capital City Grill.
Add in a little stretch of Coursey just off Sherwood where you find Curry N Kabab Paki and Pocorello's Italian deli and I think that's the best restaurant area in Baton Rouge.
That's your best Indian, best Lebanese (best version of the best Lebanese at that), best gumbo and best meat ball po-boy in town and solid choices for Americanized chinese, Thai, cheese steaks and sushi (though not necessarily the best in town or remarkably great with the last few I mentioned).
I'd give it an edge over the Overpass, despite the presence of Applebees on Sherwood. The overpass has its charms too, but I just like the variety of options on the Sherwood stretch with Thai, Viet, Indian, Nepali and Indian on the same stretch and all (with the possible exception of the rather mediocre Viet, though I do appreciate its cleanliness) solid representations of their cuisine.

Was just thinking about the variety of options in that area.
Sherwood is pretty much ethnic restaurant row. And most them are pretty damn good. You left off Waka House. Good, low-priced sushi there.

Cheap and sushi don't belong together.

That Coursey/Sherwood area is indeed a hot spot for very good lunches.

I didn't find anything wrong with it.
It's not as good as Sushi Yama or Ichiban, but more bang for the buck IMO.

Waka House is legit, IMO.
Waka House beats Waffle House.
Actually, I've never tried Waka House. It sits there kind of inconspicuous and I never think about it.

1st - Albasha is NOT the best Lebanese in the city. I vote Serops if for their Kibbi alone.
2nd - The Londoner is a great bar, but their food is just ok.
3rd - Waka house is solid. It's not the best sushi in the city by any means, but it's probably the best in its price range.
4th - I vote Jefferson Highway around Bocage and Town Center with La Madeline's, Portabellos, Mugshots, LA Pizza Kitchen, Dempseys, Dearman's, Cafe Americain, Zea's, Bosoleil, Bonefish Grill, and Serop's.

Ill second the serops vote here. Simply a matter of preference.

I don't think Serops is really close to Albasha. That said, the Towne Center area also has an Albasha down by Barnes and Noble.
As for Bocage, you named several places I would consider average at best: Portabellos, Mugshots, "LPK," is it now calls itself, Dearman's, Cafe Ameriain and Serop's.
I like LaMaedeleine for a chain, the Sherwood area has a Dempsey's very close to it, I like (don't love) Zea's and Bonefish Grill (two more chains). The only place that really stands out to me is Beausoleil. If I was arguing for that area, I'd have included Mama Della's.

I'd also include Flemings, Latte E Miele, and New York Bagel.

...and you can't leave out Whole Foods, where you can get an excellent lunch.

Yeah, might be the strongest place in the area. Got some really good shepherd's pie with barbequed sweet potatoes last week that were really good. Pizza is good. Love the asian noodles. Best soup in town. Barbeque counter is solid.
Yeah, Whole Foods is awesome to have.

That's funny, because I don't live too far from Sherwood and Coursey, and I find it one of the more abysmal food areas. The only ones I consider worth mentioning are City Cafe, Dempsys off Coursey, and I suppose Albasha if you are looking for a Mediterranean flare, and I've eaten at all the rest on multiple occasions because of my proximity I alluded to. I just don't find it very appealing, and end up going elsewhere around town for food.
Jefferson is far better by leaps and bounds. It's not really comparable in quality, but I suppose it depends upon what you're looking for in food. Comparable to Jefferson might be Mid City and the Sounthdowns area. Those are in my estimation the three best areas to find decent options and above average restaurants by BR standards, but I'm not really looking for a bunch of options, just the better ones, and I think that's where you find them.
