I agree completely, however no other poll is willing to jump teams around by large amounts early in the season as they should do.





ETA: with that said, Collegiate does have a history of looking just at records, which is not the way to do it.

Voters seem to increasingly treat baseball like football -- acting like any loss is a season ending scandal. That just isn't how the game works.

Every year it's the same thing with Rice. Their OOC record is terrible, and everyone bitches about their ranking, then they get into CUSA play and roll right through and wind up with a good looking record and end up hosting, if not a national seed. Then gag in the post season against good compitition.

Of course Stanford just got swept at home by UNLV.

I think Collegiate Baseball can be too recactionary to moving teams up and dropping them. On the flip side, I think Baseball America doesn't punish teams enough sometimes, especially early in the season.
