I have done well putting money into my emergency fund. It is fully funded with about 30-40k over. What is best way to invest this amount?

What are you doing as far as your retirement funding goes? Do you have an idea of any large purchases in the future that you want to make? Such as home, vehicle, new kitchen, etc...
You need a plan, which is the stage I am at right now for investing. I don't have an excess amount of cash to your degree, but I am laying out things I want to buy down the road. This will give me an estimate of how much money I will need and how long it will take.
With a plan you will have have direction regarding what you want, but as far as direction with monetary placement. That is something I am researching in small increments in my spare time. I started a thread earlier about Sound Mind Investing, which a coworker of mine uses to determine what broker to use, what his 3 month allocations should be and so on.
If you have thought this far, well my advice won't help much any further past this point. Good luck, I'll be watching your progress because I am nearing a point of entry for personal investing outside of retirement funds.

How are you fixed for bitcoins?
I'd recommend diversifying in bitcoins, unicorn farts, mermaid poon, gremlin balls, and Canadian squirrel dicks

Max your Roth. You can get it back if you need it, and get tax-free returns along the way.
