Someone posted a link to Sucking the 70s (Vol. 1 & Vol. 2). I've only been a casual listener of doom/sludge/stoner metal but I'm really intrigued by the overdriven bass tones. In particular this cover of Walk Away by the Mushroom River Band.
I can't find any information about what their bassist was using but his tone is insane. So fuzzy without losing too much of the low end or articulation. Does anyone have an idea of how to recreate that tone? Pedals, basses, strings, amps cabs etc.
Thanks!

Check out this pedal: big bottom v2
No idea what he actually uses but this pedal seems to do what you are talking about by leaving the bottom end unaffected. This isnt the only pedal out there that does this obviously it's just the first one that popped in my head. TYM is a fuzz noise master, rebuilt every generation of Big Muffs with authentic circuits and transistors and only puts out a pedal once it sounds exactly like his test pedals. Love the guy and his work, got put on to them when we opened for earthless a few years back (not so subtle)
