Got In Absentia, Up the Downstair, and Deadwing. What do you recommend next? Octane any good?

In Absentina is the bomb yo.
Deadwig was mehh. Had a few good songs
Fear of a blank planet is a must own.
The Incident is still growing on me. I'd jam to the Incident first before Octane twisted.
The song octane twisted is good good btw

Absolutely disagree. Deadwing was a masterpiece. The 5.1 DTS mix is probably the best I've ever heard.

Absolutely disagree
Jester, no In absentia ???

I agree, Deadwing is close to my fave PT album because Arriving Somewhere...... is their best song IMO.
But most definitely have to get Fear of a Blank Planet and The Incident.
In older stuff, get Signify.

procupine tree is a pretty badass scottish band. I haven't listened to any of their stuff in a good while. Absentia is the best imo.

I wound up getting Blank Planet. Meh. I liked Up the Downstair much better.

It sounds like you enjoy the older sound. Sorry I didn't know that earlier or I would have altered my suggestions. I'd think Lightbulb Sun, Stupid Dream, and Voyage 34 may be more your thing.
If you're feeling extremely psychedelic, On the Sunday of Life is the bee's knees.

you need to listen to it again. just pull out the lyrics to Fear of a Blank Planet (the song), ignore all things around you and experience its greatness. Then put on Anesthitize and watch the incredible transitions, and then wait for the drum masterpiece at 11:05 which is flippin mind boggling. I'm telling you, these are two phenomenal songs that will get you into the album as an entire entity.

I agree. Sum total Blank Planet may be their best album. Just need to listen to the whole thing.
Although I still like Deadwing best.

Lightbulb Sun is pretty underrated by them IMO. Signify is an alright little jamming album, but not the full album masterpieces they've worked on putting together with more of their newer stuff.

I would recommend Stupid Dream before The Incident. The Incident is good and will grow on you but I still prefer Deadwing, SD, and In Absentia to it.

I honestly think The Incident is one of Steven's weakest efforts.

I really like Signify myself. Hard to go too far wrong though.

Realized a little while ago that I left off The Sky Moves Sideways, which the OP would probably enjoy quite a git.
