There is no butthurt. Everyone recognizes how legendary of a manager he is.

Dandy, I'd take Fergie over Del Bosque. He's done more with less.

I think Hitzfeld is managing the Swiss team.

Fergie would not have made the round of sixteen with the RM side that Del Bosque took to RM's eighth CL title. Historical club pride, tactics and minute planning were intertwined, along with a bit of luck. Ferguson does not have the 'left hand' as they say in Spanish, that Del Bosque does. Left hand is best defined as emotional intelligence, but this is not the full scope of the translation.

"butthurt" is both a terrible argument to make and homophobic. The message board double!

Agreed. My three that I wanted for Bayern next year were Jupp, Pep, and Hitzfeld.

And before him your team was Europe's plaything for nearly a decade and couldn't see Barca with a telescope.

Ha, you didn't advance past the round of 16 for something like 6-7 straight years.

For a club the caliber of RM that is an absolute shame. You should be on your knees thanking Jose for what he's done for your club. In short order no less. He put you back on the European map and ran off the architect of Barcelona's success within 2 years and he'll probably win the CL this year.

I'm not in agreement. Pellegrini worked miracles with shit, and he was sacked. Del Bosque was sacked after getting blood out of a rock and taking them to the promised land, and guiding an unmanageable side to another. Mourinho is part of the most financially expansive project in the club's history. It's only logical he's where he is, at this point. That said, I understand your argument, and I agree, he is great. He is not right for RM, however.

I hear ya and I'm not sure why Del Bosque was sacked but the 2000 team was better than you let on and I could have probably managed the 2002 team to some sort of hardware. This team was stacked out the arse... GK 13 Spain César RB 2 Spain Míchel Salgado CB 4 Spain Fernando Hierro (c) CB 6 Spain Iván Helguera LB 3 Brazil Roberto Carlos DM 24 France Claude Makélélé RM 10 Portugal Luís Figo LM 21 Argentina Santiago Solari AM 5 France Zinedine Zidane CF 7 Spain Raúl CF 9 Spain Fernando Morientes

these two were in pretty bad form. No excuse however, I'll admit, I erroneously was attributing the '98 side's win over Juventus to Del Bosque. That was a Herculian feat by Fabio Capello. Mea culpa. You are right.

yeah, 96 points in the league the year he was sacked was pretty impressive... You'd almost think Abromavich was in charge..

Further to my post of the '98 side, Randy. There are many uncanny resemblances. Capello was not really wanted either, and RM played some ugly football under his watch as well. He also made RM pay 22M Euros for a worthless Argentine CB named Walter Samuel (at least Essien was really cheap). Kudos. Were Mourinho to win the CL, his legacy would be similar. Loved and welcome, but not respected. Capello comes to Spain with great frequency (he loves Spanish ham and wine, which he personally inspects and has shipped back home), and loves Spain as a country (Spain and Italy are far from identical, but are very similar in many respects). He is loved for his achievements (he won a league, maybe two, as well), but not respected, in a football sense.
