Belle Terre is still open and that is my preference over Riverlands.
Eta: haven't played either in years though.

What's the next best NOLA (southshore) golf course after TPC LA?

Belle Terre- I live on the course and it is a beautiful layout and the greens are ok, they countinue to improve the course since the new ownership took over.
Riverlands- I play often also is a great course but the layout is terrible(a lot of back to back fairways with balls coming from othe holes) but the condition of the course is better than belle terres.
So IMO I would play Belle Terre bc it's a more relaxing and nicer layout plus it's more player friendly than Riverlands but both are really nice courses.

Cool- I would definitely lean towards Belle Terre if that's the case... courses with adjacent fairways are not interesting to me.

I grew up in LaPlace and played at Belle Terre mostly. Riverlands has better greens, but that's about all that's better than Belle Terre. I don't know all of the back story, but I'll never understand why people in LaPlace would rather be a member at Riverlands over Belle Terre unless the price difference is huge. I know Belle Terre has had management issues over the years, but pretty much everything at Belle Terre is better than Riverlands.
