Reno Hightower and his white shoes
He got better with age.
He was never great. He was pretty good. He was great for around Taft. Every year he got better.
The people remember him in his prime. The kids always asked him about the 6 touchdown passes against Porterville. Hell, he only threw 3 touchdowns.
Jack: It was 7.
In a couple more years it'll be 8.

I think Bobby Boucher was on pace for 160 sacks in a season. That is game changing talent.

How the frick was Willie "Steamin" Beamen a 7th round pick?
Je was a 7th round pick out of Houston, Every team wanted him to play saftey, he bounced around the league until he got his shot.
Too bad he didnt do anything for the expansion Albuquerque Aztecs.

Signature moment was throwing a pass into double coverage against Ga. Tech? Whatever dude. I'd take Todd Marinovich over that choad.
Was it completed? (or are you not talking about the final play..?)

Yeah I'll go ahead and take the greatest linebacker to ever play the game in LT/Shark
Does he count since he already plays pro ball? Not sure of the rules of the thread.

He was an exceptional talent when he wasn't a headcase or a turnover machine. He was like an early Michael Vick.

Why no love for Julious Campbell? He was the better DE on the Titans anyway plus he isn't injury proned like the white guy.

How can anyone not pick Bobby Boucher? He turned that group of misfits into the National Champs. They didnt even have enough players to practice special teams

The fact that nobody has mentioned Joe fricking Kane yet speaks lowly for this thread and its participants.
I like Joe Kane but his LB teammate is better when his legs are attached. Also Kane was the 2nd best QB in that movie. Tim "He Could Go All The" Weyman from Michigan was just as highly touted and went on to win the Heisman that year. Not as much baggage either.
Now if we can draft pro QBs in their prime, what about Jack "Cap" Rooney? He was a legend long before Willie Beamen.

Johnny "The Mox" Moxon.
Dude was frickin Peyton Manning in high school. If it wasn't for Bud Kilmer being a frickin a-hole he'd a been starting over Lance Harbor since they were froshman. He was an OC on the field, had charisma, character, a hell of an arm, not to mention the balls to stand up to Kilmer.
