Mark Laird, Fr., BA: .372 (3rd), OBP: .471 (2nd), Runs: 12 (T-1st).

Christian Ibarra, Jr., BA: .375 (2nd), RBI: 8 (4th), SLG: .525 (2nd)

Alex Bregman, Fr., BA: .346 (4th), RBI 12 (2nd), Runs: 11 (T-3rd)

Then on the bench, you have guys like Stevenson, McMullen, Chinea, Barash and Devall that all have had positive outcomes when called upon.

While I am very high on many of our position players and pitching staff, I think Ibarra is the biggest new cog of our 2013 team. The guy can hit the ball to all fields for power and average. He is no slouch defensively. With the problems we have had in years past at 3B along with the mediocre hitting at that position, I couldn't be happier with finding this kid out of JUCO.

I'm a big Ibarra fan at the plate but his defense has to improve. Love his arm strength. I'm very disappointed in Jacoby Jones. It seems as though he is still letting a bad at bat effect his next at bat and it goes on and on.
