"Days of Future Past" is a time travel story that will feature the younger versions of the X-Men, as seen in 2011's "X-Men: First Class," as well as the older mutants of the previous trilogy. The story deals with an attempt to stop a catastrophic event in the past that creates a dark future for mutantkind.

Other returning cast members from the earlier films include Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Ellen Page and Anna Paquin, while "First Class" stars Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult will also appear. "Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage is on board as the movie's villain.

I think the best X Men was directed by Singer so I am looking forward ot this.

They're bringing back more people from the first trilogy than the last movie. I don't really like that. I don't understand their need to tie these in to the other continuity.

And Halle Berry sucks unless she's not wearing anything, which isn't going to happen in this movie so there is no point in having her in it. She was stunt casting in the first movie.

They are including the big ones that contnue continuity. Besides Beast, X, Magneto and Mystique, the other characters were ancillary.

So, what's the deal with discussing the comic source material in this thread? OK? Off limits?

Isn't the source material something like 30 years old? I think it's ok. Besides, I don't think they'll be able to follow it exactly.

ETA: Also, IMO, I like seeing the interpretation of the source material on the big screen, regardless of if I know exactly what might happen or not.

I don't know them and don't really read comics so I don't care.

I'm not really that familiar with the source material myself. And it is pretty old. But some things like what character were in it (and thus what actors who played those characters in one or more of the movies are likely to be in it) would be pretty germane to this conversation. But I know stuff like that is pretty sensitive for some people so I don't want to go there if it's gonna cause a problem.

But I don't know why they think that is so important. I don't think the audience would really have a problem with the two franchises existing in separate universes.

So who is the midget villain character?

I don't think the character he's playing was necessarily a midget in the comics. I think they just wanted a good actor for a role and will adjust the character to fit him. Maybe Bolivar Trask, but I'm not sure.

Halle needs to show her tits in a movie one more time before gravity wins

They obviously want to put to bed the timeless debate over who would win a fight: midget or guy in a wheelchair?

I don't know the backstory of this villain, and I've heard Dinklage is good on GOT, but I just have a hard time with the midget being a badass angle.

Is he like lex luthor villain?

This is the character he's rumored to play:
Bolivar Trask
He's the guy that created the Sentinels.
