A post not about the call.

SAF'a tactics were brilliant. Ronaldo was absent until the end and Giggs and Welbeck played amazingly. Vidic played great and was unlucky not to score. It sucks to go out. I hope no rift opens up with Rooney for not starting, though. I'm sure it was tough for him not to start.

Yeah you need to look into that relationship first. They might as well have asked Arbeloa what he thought of the call.

Yea he had some acrimonious conflicts with fergie, management, and the Man U fans, but he also won a treble, several doubles, and like 8 league titles with ya'll along with being the captain for however many years.

I played soccer for 15 years, reffed for about five, and i defintely wouldn't have shown a red. But that's bc the red card and pk rule are both stupid and need to be revised, bc the punishments so often far outweigh the crimes. That being said, the ref did nothing that was outside the letter of the law, so blame the law

Doesn't matter, he hates Fergie and today's United teams.

SAF did the exact same thing with Beckham when the Galacticos came to OT.

Right. And I could see how a ref out of position could make that call. Even in position it wouldn't be a bad call IMO.

The law gives the ref discretion, and I blame the ref for abusing his discretion.

Yep, I remember that. A curious call then and curious now but I think he might've gotten it right today. Ronaldo and Alonso were absent for the most part.

Red cards are stupid. They need to have an orange card, or allow you to sub on another guy if you still have a sub available. Then Nani gets sent off for dangerous play, punishing him, and Man U gets a slap on the wrist punishment of losing a substitution, no big deal. And if a red card were to occur after all 3 subs had been used, then chances are it was issued late in a game. Red cards that are issued before the 70 minute mark or so are just too damaging

He got it right back then too. Roberto Carlos ran wild against Beckham in the first leg.

Roy Keane doesn't give a shite about Manchester United. That's why he was forced out. This is the same guy who got sent home from Saipan because, "frick the world cup."

Are you saying red cards should be gotten rid of entirely? Sometimes they're warranted. This isn't one of those times. Just saying, some fouls a player should be sent off for.

He has done business with him in the past few years. Said they met together to smooth all of that shite over. Roy Keane is fricking complicated

I don't care if a player stabs someone on the field. If it happens in the second minute it ruins the game. Make the team that got the red card play ten, fifteen, maybe even 20 minutes with a man down and then let them sub on someone else. The player who actually got the red card wouldn't be allowed to reenter and you could suspend him for however many games his actions warranted. Last defender red card fouls you'd treat the same way except you'd award a pk even if the foul occurred outside of the box

Here's an interview where he talks about moving on.

He's a great analyst because he just gives his opinion.
