Doug Free, can I see you in my office.

Spencer's agent Jordan Woy tweeted out Monday that the Cowboys intended to use the tag for the second-straight year.
It's a bold move by Dallas considering that Spencer will now receive a guaranteed, one-year deal worth $10.638 million. (The tag number for linebackers this year is $9.619 million, but Spencer was tagged last year, so he gets a $120 percent pay raise.)
Making matters more complicated is Dallas' move to a new defense. Spencer thrived in their 3-4 defense last year and was drafted as a 3-4 outside linebacker.
He'll now move to defensive end (presumably) in Monte Kiffin's 4-3 scheme and be paid a high price -- all of which counts against the salary cap! -- to try and generate a pass rush from a much more difficult position.

Safety Gerald Sensabaugh has been released to slice still more money off the Cowboys bloated payroll.
Sensabaugh has started at safety for the Cowboys the past four seasons. His release means the get out from under his $3 million base salary in 2013.
The move will save the team a little less than $1.4 million on the cap this season.

Guess he's gonna make Romo earn his contract on the field then.
They also released Gerald Sensabaugh, might want to add that in the OP as well

Added that to the OP.
Doug Free has to be cleaning out his locker or restructuring. His cap number is $10m this year and $11m next year.
Sensabaugh is saving them $1.4m in cap room.

Wouldn't even consider restructuring for that POS. I would hate to sign any of his paychecks as an owner.
If it wasn't a false start, he was holding. If he somehow avoided both of those penalties, he was getting beat so badly at the line he would be blocking air

$9.619 to $10.638 is definitely not a 120% increase

What sucks is that POS Free will go somewhere else and play at a pro bowl level, like with the Eagles or Skins.
But they have to cut him or he has to take a massive pay cut (not likely)

Yeahh its supposed to be 120 percent of the previous seasons salary. So basically a 20 percent raise, not 120
