quote:of course they do, but you have to realize that we are playing teams that do not have nearly the pitching depth that we will see during conference play
so the runs scored in innings 7 through 9 don't count?
fact is that we are having a rougher time than i would have expected scoring runs against the starting pitching of these programs that i don't think will be considered very good once the season is over. we are beating up on thin bullpens, where a substantial decrease in talent is often observed
i hope it changes come conference play, but i believe that we are starting to see how this team will play for the season since we are 11 games into the slate

Which if you are really good at predicting things, should still happen about 50% of the time. That statement is pointless without any frame of reference to whatever you personally expected in January.

Yeah, and the first 11 games don't mean much, so don't sweat it. Just be happy that there is a significant improvement in lineup depth from last season to this season--that much is already apparent. We'll know more once conference play begins, but right now the offensive numbers look very good relative to what the team was like last season.

we will need have a lot more timely hitting for our current success to continue into SEC play.
Good God, you're one of those people.
There's probably no hope trying to reason with you then.
