I use the plastic clips from wal marks. Used to tie skip knot, but saw the clips, and are 100 times easier and quicker.

Eta: it's the hanger clips with the teeth.

Another tip, replace all hooks with small trebel hooks. Never lose a fish. You're welcome

Yeah those are the ones I use. I'm starting to see a lot more people use them.

To the poster asking for pics, I searched and didn't see any. Will try to take a picture of one of mine when I get a chance.

Cool idea with the clip. I think I like it. Gonna try it with a few next time. Not sure about the treble hook. Don't think my shiner would have enough action dragging around a treble hook. I think I'll buy a box off trebles and put em in my yo-yo box for a "mayber later" plan.

They are small...about what would be on a rogue or rattle trap.. shiners move just fine with them.

Academy has them for $22.99 per dozen.

About the clips. Do you clip that to a branch, or wrap it around the branch and clip back to the string?

Clip to branch

That little clip is going to hold on to a branch with a 3 lb catfish pulling against. Maybe so be that's pushing it if you by chance get a big boy on the line.
