I usually bring a kid to drive the boat, as running yoyos all night results in me drinking a big box of beer in a short time.

Where to you find catalpa worms? I haven't seen them in 20 years.

There is a special knot to tie them with. When you master this art as well as find a good boat driver you have it whipped.

Simplen slip knot FTW. Can take them down with one hand when your done. Also, dont just set them shallow, your shiner will swim whether you can see him doing it or not Shallow is fine, unless you have many gar, then they will rape your shiners if shallow set.

Not to be a smart ass, but there are plenty of Catalpa trees around.

I think there's a bunch of big ones along highway 1 in Port Allen.

Also to the OP, I recommend getting some reflective tape and putting a piece on each side of the you-yo. Makes them much easier to spot with the q-beam.

I order cheap fly line off eBay. I use that to tie my yo-yos. One of the best tricks I've got.

Never heard of that, will have to check it out. I use nylon string and synge the ends instead of tying knots in it. The knots keep you from being able to untie them with one hand with a slip knot.

We use to put out 200 every Sat. night when I was in high school and had to be home in time for church, so time was important when picking them up.

Slip knot with the fly line makes picking up super easy.

Y'all talking about using special line to untie quicker makes me wonder if I'm not fishing fast enough or if I might be drinking too fast. No pocket knives up there in Nort Louisiana?

Or are all y'all's knives brand new and therefore contaminated?
