That never happened. Shea said all year that he thought LC would end up at LSU. He was mislead by the kid just as everyone else on LSU's side(and members of his family) were. Nothing can be done about that. It's the nature of a business where almost all information is of the 3rd hand variety. It's not real common for a kid to outright mislead an entire coaching staff, group of recruiting site mods and members of his own family. LC was a special circumstance.
Now the stuff that happened 2 nights before he announced was a little bad for business but that was also LC outright and purposely misleading Frank Wilson and his own father. Our best inside sources fell for that one but to their credit, owned up the next day and said that the info they were given was not holding up. Again, it happens when most info is 3rd hand. In this case it wouldn't have mattered if it was straight from LC since he was intentionally lying to LSU. Just a bad situation all around for insiders on LSU's side. It's rarely that way.
Our 247 insiders are among the best in the business and very well respected by their peers on a regional and national level. I'll take their word and gut feel every time. If it sometimes ends up wrong then oh well, it happens.
