Argentina historically WAS rock solid defensively. Zanetti amazes me, although now definitely showing the slip. He is very, very intelligent, a leader, positions well (even moreso now) and absolutely delivers his all. Zabaleta is the same.
Going to midfield, I remember how Real Madrid gave up on Cambiasso, and this guy was still a stalwart in Argentina´s national side, and was serviceable at Inter.
Argentines are gonna argentine.
They are peculiar people, in general.
Many people define them as half Andalusian, half Sicilian, and they think they´re English. Explosive cocktail.
They are ultra competitive, however.
