It's pretty easy to figure out.....google earth Brown, NM.......wikipedia Henry Newton Brown.....wikipedia Lincoln County, NM......The Valley of Fires (that satisfies the blaze comment) is a recreation center off of HWY 380 which runs between Brown and Lincoln County, NM. You don't need a paddle so it isn't in the water...but high water is a problem so you have to wait for low tide to dig it up. Do I win the internet.

To further expand he said put in below Brown.....to me put in means a boat...so I assumed water was involved. I google earthed Brown, NM and it was a place. I also googled Brown New Mexico and Henry Newton Brown was a party to Billy the Kid...in Lincoln County, NM. I googled earthed Lincoln County, NM...very close to Brown...I started looking for a place to "put in" and found Valley of Fires....on a bridge....between Brown, NM and Lincoln County, NM..."if you've found the blaze look down"...seems to fit. He also encourages people to get and see America...what better place that an outdoor recreation park.

I was actually coming in here to post something similar. Although, I initially thought the "blaze" reference may be a reference to the gunfight at Blazer's Mill... Which involved Henry Newton Brown.

The Book of Eli was shot in Carrizozo, NM which is the town that The Valley of Fires is in. Also, Carrizozo was the site of a "young" lava flow. He says "no place for the meek" which a lava flow isn't. I can't find all 9 clues though. I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express though.

He also says "begin where the warm water stops. Warm Springs BLVD ends in the town directly to the west of the valley of fires.
