Yep.

I go by what I was raised with in regard to what names I use for meals, no matter where I am living. In most of the south, the midday meal was "dinner" and the evening meal was "supper." It still is, as far as my family and I are concerned.

So if you took someone out to dinner, you would mean at noon?
That could be a goof up with a possible work client. Lunch is lunch, dinner is dinner. Supper is something old people from the country eat.

Both And there's no such thing as "breakfast for dinner". It's "breakfast for supper".

Hello everyone, yes I'm new. They said I should start posting on the F&DB board first as you people are the most civil, polite and easiest to get along with. As for Dinner vs. Supper, we were poor growing up so the noon hour did not mean food, it meant 12:00pm. And 6:00 was not for supper or dinner, it meant that it would soon be dark.

Grew up with it always being Supper. Moved to LSU and was made fun of all the time so I learned to say dinner. I now use whichever based on who I'm speaking with. Breakfast Lunch Supper/Dinner Late Night Snack (Even if it's 15 taco's, it's a snack)
