Do you folks in North Louisiana generally take your coffee like us in South Louisiana? Or like many other things, do you follow the Texas model? You know, where you can see the bottom of the cup?

I heard they boil the water without grounds first, then sprinkle coffee grounds on top.

I generally just put a couple of beans in some hot water

that is how everyone drinks coffee, right?

did not start drinking coffee till I moved to South Louisiana, I quit about 3 years ago. I did drink it sweet with lots of cream though.

yeah we copy south la.. good dark hot cofee.

However unlike you guys, we haven't perfected the method of cooking and eating the likes of coots, merganzers, nutira rats and beavers.
May take us a while... haven't seen that kind of hungry yet.

Poop, in all honesty, you can damn near stand a spoon up in my coffee...and my roots are in the great state of Mississippi. Blow your mind? Poop your pants?

Either this is dumb or my parents learned to drink coffee from some low bred coonass. Their coffee could take the place of 10W-40 if need be. I drink it like that too, but prefer it with a shot of Baileys and two fingers of Charter.

It has been a long slow process of converting these N LA residents over to the dark side of coffee drinking. I grew up south of the white gravy line and moved to the Port City a couple years ago. Hell, Salmon didn't even drink coffee till I got here. I drink it black as the night and stronger than my momma's resolve.

Nice. Yet another thread in the long-standing attempt to manufacture a "rivalry" between two abstract halves of the state.

I drink Peet's Coffee from the San Francisco Bay Area. It's infinitely better (and stronger) than anything I have found in the New Orleans area.

I moved from New Iberia to Shreveport to go to college and remained up here. The difference in coffee is HUGE. It's so weak that I just stopped buying coffee and made it at home....Community New Orleans Blend.

Then when Starbucks moved in I tossed the coffee maker and have a Quad Espresso every morning. 4 sugars and some steamed Skim.
