I was about to make some snicker doodles and realized I don't have any eggs. I did a google search for egg substitutes and came up with water, oil, or baking powder. Anyone use any egg substitutes in cookies and can you tell a difference?

I've seen some instant cookie mixes that call for oil and water and no eggs so maybe you're onto something with that google search

Wouldn't seem like either one would suffice as a binding agent though

Yea I think I'm just gonna wait to get some eggs. I don't want to waste time and ingredients unless someone on here was to swear by something as a substitute

The wife used egg beaters instead when baking a cake and it came out fine

Applesauce or flax seeds and water. I think a banana could work as well.

Mayo 3-4tsp per egg.

Bonus: eat all the cookie dough you want without worry

Interesting fact I read online the other day. Cookie/cake mixes use to have powdered egg in the mix but Betty Crocker decided to leave it out because she thought women would feel like they were doing more by cracking an egg Into the mix. Supposedly sales skyrocketed after that haha.
