Thinking about seeing them when they come to the 40 Watt in Athens at the end of March. Just curious if anyone's seen them now that they're old as hell

Damn! I haven't heard that name in a long time.

Sorry. Last time I saw them was in 1994 at the Fairfax High School gymnasium in Hollywood opening for Cracker. They were old then.

I saw them open for Built to Spill a few years back. They were a good opener for sure.

Saw them about about a year ago and they put on a good. Not as lively as when I saw them in 1989 and 1992, but still solid. Played a good mix of older stuff along with a few new numbers.

Thanks y'all. I think I'm gonna check them out anyway. Regardless it'll be a trip to downtown Athens

At the Howlin' Wolf?
I saw them at SXSW about 3-4 years ago and they were great live.

Saw them in 93 opened up for Stone Temple Pilots. They had equipment issues and sucked. Scott Weiland gave the finger to the crowd for booing them. STP rocked though.

Would anybody know who the Meat Puppets were if they didn't play a few songs with Nirvana in the epic unplugged concert?

Their song "backwater" was pretty popular

Anyone who listened to alt/indie/underground music in the 80s knew who they were...

Cool. I was at that show at the Howlin Wolf too. My first time to see both bands. Was a great show!

I saw them in 2011/2012 at Chelsea's for nostalgia's sake. It was a decent show, definitely worth the $10-$15 I spent on tickets, but they didn't blow me away by any means. It was funny to hear Lake of Fire and overhear some girl state that they were covering Nirvana and not doing a good job of it.
